    thank you.

  8. Admin - February 2nd, 2009 at 08:35

Hi Bhavin, If you are sure your cartridges is OK, pls check you cartridges circuit, small pins that connected with head case maybe dirty, take alcohol in tissue and clean the pins. I suggest you to testing your cartridges on other printer to make sure the cartridges is fine. The error message is appear because the printer can not detect any cartridges. one more, you cross check with other cartridges that worked fine in the other printer, try the cartridges in your printer.

  16. Chelsea - July 11th, 2009 at 12:12

Vilma pelayo, your problem’ exactly same as mine too!! thought I didn’t use original ink cartridge. I actually thought it’s the ink cartridge problem, but it’s not.
Solution is, use alcohol swab. Dab it lightly over the ink cartridge microchip side*the side with gold dots*. Next, use clean alcohol swab and dab over the place where ur printer is connected with ink cartridge microchip.

  18. John Watson - July 22nd, 2009 at 08:49

Hello. I gave up with my friends canon mp160, displaying E27 = Waste ink absorber full or platen waste ink absorber full, after cleaning thoroughly ink in the area where the cartridges are usually stored – on the right of the computer, and following the reset instuctions. I advised him to contact Canon directly, and this he has done, getting an email back suggesting taking the printer to an authorised repairer. I am pretty angry with Canon for producing a printer which is in my opinion, not fit for purpose. I will not recommend them to anyone, and I certainly won’t be buying any of their products.

I suggest you testing your cartridges with other, if the error message still appeared, I think there is must be something damaged in the inside or some part is not work normally.

As I know, the printer will appear error code message for normal cases.
