i am solving the same problem now, i can't reset the menu too, but i found other solution, everytime i start the mp150, the screen is shinning with "E"and "8", so i press the middle green button, the button is for fast color copy, after that the screen show "1" immediately, and i can use the scanner and printer normally, but it shows "E" again after i turn off the printer. hope it helps u

Can't get my printer to go into service mode. After steps 1 and 2, the printer boots up and E27 appears. Process: Hold Stop/Reset and press Power. Power lights, then hold Power and press Stop/Reset twice and release. I did this many times at different speeds. Suggestions?

Yes, Error 27 message is Waste Ink Tank Full, you don't need open your printer. That you need to do is resetting. Resetting is make ic/eeprom of the printer to be zero. I never recommend to people when get the message to open phicailly their printer. Read carefully this post.

I've openned up my MP150 and found easily two plastic black bases for the Ink Cartridges to sit on, with a small raised nipple in the center of each, with a small hole in them.

They are attached to a white plastic carriage/platform to hold them and they also have a small raised nipple in the center of each, but NO Foam OR any other type of absorbent material.anywhere to wash clean.

The black 'bases' came off easily and I cleaned them up, but the white sub bases are a part of this white carriage and they don't come off, unless you do some major dismantling.

So far, I have just unscrews the right end off my MP150 to get access to this white Carraige..

The White carriage moves only a short distance and back again; of 20mm ( like a Typewriter ) from the print area..

But underneath the White Carriage, I found two plastic 'tubes' attached to the underside each of the white nipples and through to deep in the back to another compartment, to a cylindrical plastic object.firmly attached / screwed to the rest of the mechanical parts.

Is this the Ink waste 'tank'??

IF this is a waste tank, HOW dose this 'tank' get emptied?? I have tried to see if these tubes would come off and to see IF any ink dribbled out, but, they wouldn't move.

OR are they electrical , for the sensors? AND leave them alone??

I did find ink everywhere, pooling in the plastic cavities of the Frame under the Cartridges and cleaned it up..

SO, I didn't find exactly what was mentioned in the Instructions, but something completely, different.

I did try all last nite to get a copy of the Service Manual for a CANON MP 150, but NO luck.

Do I JUSTt put it back together and reprogram the Programing?

ANSWERS????? PLEASE.

This worked for my Canon MP150, thanks!
Note: I also disassembled the printer first to clean the Waste Ink Absorber Pads (removed pads, washed with water, then dried and replaced).
