Palm V Soft Reset and Hard Reset

Palm V Performing Soft Reset

1. Insert the stylus into the pin-hole (located near the upper left side) to press and hold the Reset button.
2. Continue to hold the Reset button for approximately 5 seconds, then release.
3. Remove the stylus from the pin-hole.
4. The device has been soft reset.

Palm V Performing Hard Reset

1. Press and hold the Backlight button (located on the front of the device at the upper right corner).
2. Turn the device over and locate the pin-hole labeled Reset (near the upper middle of the device).
3. While continuing to hold the Backlight button, insert the stylus into the pin-hole to press and hold the Reset button.
4. After approximately 5 seconds, release the stylus and continue to hold the Backlight button.
5. Wait 5 seconds after releasing the Reset button then release the Backlight key.
6. A prompt will appear on the display screen, asking if you would like to erase all data.
7. To reply Yes, press up on the round Navigator key (the middle button, beneath the Graffiti writing area).
8. The device has been hard reset.
