Palm Tungsten Soft Reset and Hard Reset

Performing Soft Reset Palm Tungsten

1. Extend the navigation buttons to reveal the Graffiti writing area.
2. Turn the device over and locate the pin-hole labeled Reset (the pin-hole was revealed when the navigation buttons were extended).
3. Insert the stylus into the pin-hole to press and hold the Reset button.
4. Continue to hold the Reset button for approximately 5 seconds, then release.
5. Remove the stylus from the pin-hole.
6. The device has been soft reset.

Performing Hard Reset Palm Tungsten

1. Extend the navigation buttons to reveal the Graffiti writing area.
2. Press and hold the Backlight/Power button (located on the top edge of the device near the left side).
3. While continuing to hold the Backlight/Power button, turn the device over and locate the pin-hole labeled Reset (the pin-hole was revealed when the navigation buttons were extended).
4. Insert the stylus into the pin-hole to press and hold the Reset button.
5. After approximately 5 seconds, release the stylus and continue to hold the Backlight/Power button.
6. Wait 5 seconds after releasing the Reset button then release the Backlight/Power button.
7. A prompt will appear on the display screen, asking if you would like to erase all data.
8. To reply Yes, press up on the round Navigator key (the middle button, beneath the Graffiti writing area).
9. The device has been hard reset.
